All our training courses are currently funded through the Government Levy system. This means you must have an annual wage bill of at least £3million per year to access this funding. Please see links below for further information.

The National Apprenticeship Service can assist employers find an apprentice. The employer places the vacancy through an approved training provider and the provider can put the vacancy on the National; Apprenticeship Service website. If your wage bill is less than £3 Million per year, you can get government funding to cover some of the cost of training and assessing an apprentice.
Apprentices need to be aged 16 or over and combine working with studying to gain skills and knowledge in a specific job.
Apprentices can be new or current employees and you must pay the apprentice at least the minimum wage.
If you do not pay the levy then you pay 5% towards the cost of training and assessing your apprentice. You need to:
•agree a payment schedule with the training organisation
•pay them directly for the training
The government will pay the rest (95%) up to the funding band maximum. They’ll pay it directly to the training organisation in this case NFDT..
You could be eligible for extra funding depending on both your and your apprentice’s circumstances.
You must create an account with the Apprenticeship service in order to reserve funds for your apprenticeship!

National Food and Drink Training (NFDT) was established in 2015 as a rebrand of Scottish Bakers training provision. This was a direct result of the strengthening of its portfolio to include lean manufacturing techniques and the delivery of the new Food Manufacturing Excellence (FME) qualifications.
