Our NFDT Training Advisor Pat Finnigan, recently visited The Mad Batter Bakery & Coffee Shop in Coatbridge where three staff are working through an SVQ with us.
David & Graeme started Mad Batter Bakery from a start up 3 years ago. David had a passion for bakery and with Graeme having years of retail experience, it seemed a great mix!
Both had a passion to set up a Bakery / Coffee Shop serving bespoke cupcakes, deserts & fresh produce hot food to its customers and since then the business has grown and grown.
In the short time they have been operating Mad Batter has built up a loyal customer base & have won numerous awards including Scottish south west Bakery of the year at the 2019 Scottish independent Retail Awards and achieving Trip advisor travellers choice award status
David and Graeme put their success down to their fantastic team who all have a passion for great food and great service, helping to create a friendly relaxing atmosphere that customers enjoy.
Never ones to rest, the Mad Batter team are always looking to improve and currently have three colleagues working through their Food Sales & Service Skills SVQ to further enhance both their colleagues learning & their customers experience.
National Food and Drink Training (NFDT) was established in 2015 as a rebrand of Scottish Bakers training provision. This was a direct result of the strengthening of its portfolio to include lean manufacturing techniques and the delivery of the new Food Manufacturing Excellence (FME) qualifications.
