We chose NFDT as they are recognised within the industry, and the qualification attained by our employees would benefit the company and their own personal development. The fact that there was no cost to the business other than the time that is provided to allow our employees to carry out their course work is a fantastic benefit.

NFDT’s approach to tailoring the programme made sense from the very beginning because everyone in this business has one or more KPIs [key performance indicators]. The way the programme was set up means that individual employees can relate their training to their individual KPIs and driving straight through to quality improvements.

We would advise anyone considering an SVQ to think about the benefits it could have on their career. It is a great opportunity with excellent support and resources available, would definitely recommend the SVQ courses run by NFDT, they provide great opportunities for learning.

It has been very worthwhile for us to put our staff through their training. Not only does it enhance their skills, but it is great to see our people progressing and being proud of what they have achieved. The training took place on site so they were able to learn within their own working environment and that’s so much more beneficial that purely classroom-based learning. This qualification was fully funded ad we are very grateful for their support as well as that of Scottish Bakers/NFDT who provided the training.

About Us

National Food and Drink Training (NFDT) was established in 2015 as a rebrand of Scottish Bakers training provision. This was a direct result of the strengthening of its portfolio to include lean manufacturing techniques and the delivery of the new Food Manufacturing Excellence (FME) qualifications.
